SUDUR PASCHIM PROVINCE

 Sudurpaschim Province, also known as Province 7, is one of Nepal's seven provinces and covers 19,539 square kilometers, or 13.22% of the country's total area. It's located in the far western region of Nepal and is bordered by China to the north, India to the west and south, and Karnali and Lumbini provinces to the east. 

The province's geography includes: 40.6% covered by the Himalayas, 34.54% covered by mountains, and 24.86% covered by Terai or plain lands. 



Sudurpaschim Province is home to many holy sites mentioned in Hindu epics and is part of the Gurans Himal range, a sub-range of the Himalayas. The province's major cities include Dhangadhi, Bhimdutta (Mahendranagar), and Tikapur. 

The province's current chief minister is Kamal Bahadur Shah, who has held the position since February 10, 2023.
